Volunteering at the NDG Food Depot

I did my first volunteer work in Montreal at the NDG Food DEPOT organized by CLC. It’s a community-based non-profit organization that works collaboratively with other community partners to address food issues.

My CLC friends and I helped organize the donation bags with the postcards and letters so that another team could deliver them later.

The feeling was of engagement and relaxation and while we were working other volunteers were playing music. People were very friendly and we could see and feel the happiness on each other’s face as we helped  those who really need it!
It was an incredible experience for me because I could see that it is not only a food donation but there’s also education by increasing access to healthy food, offering cooking programs, and also helping people to find houses and jobs!
