Touring quilt from the children of Japan

It was in March 2011 when the Japanese and Montreal community came together at CLC Montreal to support the cookie fundraiser for the Canadian Red Cross: Japanese Earthquake Relief Fund.  It was a volunteer-organized event that raised $9,223.89 in cookie, nail art, accessory and face painting sales.

To thank the Canadians for their generous support, youth members of the affected area made and sent beautiful handmade quilts over.  The squares, hand drawn by Japanese students, were carefully sewn together to create these masterpieces.  CLC Montreal has the honour of displaying 3 of these quilts for a limited period of time so that CLC students and visitors in our space can view them.

They will still be on display during our Christmas potluck this Friday. Come drop by this week, if you can, to check them out!
