Many people have stated that Quebec corn is best corn they’ve ever taste. It’s sweet, light, and not too starchy such that it fills you up quickly. Eating corn is definitely one of the perks of being in Quebec during the summer!
That said, did you know that it’s an annual tradition in this province to have an “épluchette de blé d’Inde” where corn is harvested, boiled, and consumed with butter, with your family and friends, at the end of the corn season (August/September)? At CLC, we made sure to take advantage of this celebration and shared the taste of sweet corn with our students. It is during that time that they discovered that spreading wasabi and butter on corn actually makes a delicious combination! Who would have thought! Would you try it?
