It was cold. It was dark. It was hard work. However, that didn’t prevent some of the CLC students from wanting to volunteer with Action Communiterre, whose mission is “to raise public awareness about food security and urban agriculture, while improving the community’s access to healthy organic produce through collectively-managed vegetable gardens and other urban agricultural projects in the Montreal area” – Action Communiterre.
A school garden needed to be closed, so the students joined muscle forces to plant bulbs for the next year. Everybody was sore the next day, but it was the good kind of sore that reassured them that not only did they have a good workout, but they were productive for a good cause!
