Most people say that of all the seasons in Montreal, summer is their favourite because it always brings great moments to share with your family and friends. CLC agrees. For that reason, we have really enjoyed together several open-air activities that this city has to offer.
5 à 7 Activity
On July 13, our Happy Hour à la Montreal took place in Le Sainte-Elizabeth Pub located downtown. Our CLC community enjoyed a sunny afternoon in their old European-style terrace. As usual, we exchanged unforgettable experiences while improving our language skills and drinking beer and cocktails.
Billiards Tournament Activity
This month, our billiards tournament was held at Mazz Billards, located in the Westmount area of Montreal. The players were split into two teams and they named themselves “The Amazing Japanese Team” and “The International Team”. To our surprise, there was no winning team because there was a tie between them. Thus, this July tournament opened a new challenge for the coming month.
Dragon Boat Race Festival “One afternoon at the races”
CLC enjoyed some of the races held in the 17th edition of the Montreal International Dragon Boat Festival that took place at Parc Jean-Drapeau. This popular festival, influenced by the Chinese culture, featured highly-decorated dragon boats measuring 12 to 37 metres long, dragon parades, multicultural performances, and traditional costumes.
After enjoying the landscape that Parc Jean-Drapeau offers, the CLC Community moved to the Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival in the Quartier des Spectacles to share some funny moments. We participated in the outdoor activities such as the maze, circus arts, street dancing and the parade with clowns, acrobats, and giant puppets. The most comic moment of our visit to this place was when our community decided to participate in a real race…a mechanical horse race!
