Arepas, Thrivability Montreal & Apple Picking

Spanish teacher Mirelys from Venezuela recently taught us how to make arepas, which are essentially flat corn buns.  They are simple to make and go with any kind of filling.  We made avocado-lime chicken, ham & cheese, and tuna filling.  Moreover, it’s an excellent gluten-free alternative to wheat bread!  Meanwhile, a musician guest named Ian came to sing and play his guitar for us.  He had one of the most beautiful voices I’ve ever heard live!

In other news, Thrivability Montreal has returned!

To kick start the fall series of workshops, guest speakers Jean-Philippe Bouchard and Valérie Lanctôt-Bédard got us thinking about non-violent communication and how it would be beneficial in the workplace.  For more information about it, click here.

Finally, this past weekend, a group of CLC students, friends, and staff members filled a yellow school bus to go to Oka for apple picking and honey tasting.
