It has been quite busy at CLC (as usual). We kick started the month of September by spending some quality time with our students during a happy hour event at Typhoon Lounge. The pictures can be viewed here.
This past Friday, a group of about 15 students, language tea time guests and staff members combined went to Concordia University’s Loyola campus to volunteer for the Loyola City Farm. This organization has been doing amazing work, building and maintaining an eco-friendly & organic garden on the university’s premise without disturbing the land that’s already there. Crops harvested from this garden go to the NDG Food Depot. We had a really fun time harvesting the tea leaves and vegetables. It didn’t even feel like we were actually doing work! At the end, we each got a bag of surplus mixed lettuce leaves as a souvenir of our memorable experience. If you’d like to volunteer for the Loyola City Farm too, please visit their website for more information: Loyola City Farm.

The next day, the Montreal International Community Center launched their first event at CLC Montreal: Vistas: An Emerging Art Showcase. This art vernissage showcased the works of Oliver Elorza, Summer Geraghty, Natasha Henderson, Jamal deJong, Tania Mignacca, Daniel Nadeau, Sarina Rahman, and Douglas Capron. It was a relaxing event with wine, cheese, and good music played by DJ Baril.
